I rarely get out to the movies anymore.  When I lived 15 minutes away from work, I would sometimes stop on the way home and see a movie. Now that I'm an hour drive away, it puts me home way too late to stop and see one on the way home.  I could go on the weekends but then I'm always spending all weekend catching up on the things I can't get done during the week. It's a vicious cycle!

I'm hoping to catch a flick soon though. Maybe this weekend.

I totally commiserate with your dilemma.  I used to go to the movies quite a bit too, but I find I am too busy to go during the week right now.  Work reigns.   Wink

Then on the weekends, I do find myself playing catch-up with all kinds of other matters.

I have movie theaters within a reasonable driving distance - but it just seems I never get there.

My best bet is to rent movies and watch them at my leisure.

Thus, I am never up to date on any new movies...

I used to live (literally) three minutes from a 20 screen theatre that I'd drive by on my way home. It was sweet.  Unfortunately, now that I am selling that house, I'm an hour away from there.  There are a couple of theatres right around me, several, in fact, within a 15 minute driving distance.  But the hour commute out and back is 2 hours of driving a day that I used to be able to spend at a movie if I wanted to Smiley

I know the long commute, 1 hour 15 each way when the traffic is good. But its woeth the change. Used to have a mobile in south bay, maybe 10 miles from the Venice area, could have visited the filming crew. Ended up buying a great farm out in Riversaide area; couple of acres with a commute ot Anaheim. In 2 years, the company moves to maybe 3 miles from me, so much the better.

Living out in the boonies worth the commute? YOU BETCHA.
Fresh air,  completely rural community, me happy... Smiley

I would like to see a movie this weekend too. My birthday is Saturday so ... dinner and a movie would be appropriate since I can get a seniors discount now.  :-/

Senior's discount?!  Shocked

Ha!  Ohhh, CoffinRock - you know that is so not true.  You're still a young woman, m'dear.   Wink

I do hope you get your dinner and a movie though.  That would be fun - and you deserve it.

And Happy Birthday to you for Saturday!!   Grin
