In order to inform all the novice movie buffs out there, what are the next steps that will have to take place before this bad boy gets released for mass public consumption? Â
I know that the creative portion in relation to the movie is essentially done, but what has to happen next? Â Spielberg put Munich out in 4 months, which I thought was completely aggressive, but is it possible that Altered gets released on the quick? Â What are the other components that need to be completed prior to release?
Inquiring minds want to know...
Thanks Ed and JJ for all of the updates, its been fun following the growth process of this movie, I can't wait to see the final product, as I've seen enough to know that you've put together a winner. Â Hope to see ya'll soon!
Keep on doing what ya'll are doin, things always fall into place.

First of all, Spielberg is Spielberg. Â He could probably get a flick from camera to screen in a couple of weeks if he wanted to (OK...I exaggerate). Â There are some directors and studios that can move projects very quickly. Â I suspect that Spielberg's and the studio's intention with MUNICH was to get it into theaters for the awards season. Â Our flick will probably not move so quickly. Â Hell, we are already 2 years into the project!
Essentially, what happens next will depend on the marketing schedule that Focus Features puts in place.
Ed and Gregg (and maybe Rob too) will be screening the movie for the marketing execs at Focus this Friday. Â They will then begin to formulate a plan based on the best way to present the material to the general public.
This may (or may not) include test marketing, schedules for television advertising, theatrical trailers, teaser posters in theaters and so on.
Also, Haxan wouldn't be Haxan without an aggresive web campaign. Â The ALTERED movie web site (sites?) will be extensive and awesome.
Fans around here have always been a part of the Haxan family (I should know because I was a fan, first and foremost, before I started working with the guys). Â We are hoping to present you guys with a lot of awesome opportunities through the web site.
Of course there will be no better marketing or advertising that this right here...our personal contact with you. Â It is my sincere hope that we can always maintain our open lines of communications with the fan base that means so much to the life of ALTERED.
Last, but certainly not least, we hope to get a release date for you guys really soon. Â After the Focus screening this week, we should have a better idea of when Rogue Pictures will be putting ALTERED into theaters for everyone to dig on.
