I gotta agree, FC. It's really, REALLY dead around here these days. Have we actually run out of stuff to discuss?

Sure, life for me has been a rollercoaster ride since Oct. 1st (and here it is Dec. 4th), but I do try to throw a comment out when I can. I've said it before, there's not enough hours in the day--- or week.

I could pop off for everyone's amusement on my latest rant of how absolutely EVERYTHING has to be remade into something it should never be. Land of the Lost, The Green Hornet, and now The Munsters. Oh yeah, read on---

http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/debbiedowner/news/?a=50651

---this is just soooo wrong in so many ways. I'm not even that big of a fan of The Munsters and I know it's totally wrong. Maybe it'll get the same treatment that the Wonder Woman series got last year and never get broadcast. Wonder Woman didn't look half as bad as this sounds.

Anyhow that's your rant for the day. Smiley

Hi guys. Sorry for my absence lately. It's been...well...eventful. I don't even know where to begin. Been trying to 'clean house' persay with all of late grandmother's belongings, scratching and surviving, and... craziest thing of all, my mother (a major atheist) has become born again! Crazy!

So, in addition to the cleaning and the working, we've been going to this really nice church, that DOESN'T guilt-trip people into giving money OR put emphasis on tedious practices and dogma. It's been nice. And it's given us both a better sense of peace and hope for the future.

But don't worry guys, eventhough I'm an active Christian again, I'm STILL going to enjoy  playing scary videogames, and watching awesome shows like Freakylinks Wink lol.

@ Shadow: That's HORRIBLE what they plan to do to The Munsters  Cry  I'm sorry, but there are certain things that are just too sacred to touch (THE MUNSTERS is one of them). Redoing the Munsters like that...  Shocked well that would be just like somebody remaking Dirty Harry !!! Que Eric Cartman voice: Not Cooo!

Oh Yea! Almost forgot! I'm still working on that Silent Hill story. Progress, as you might guess, was a little slow, but It's starting to pick back up again. I just posted a chapter a few days ago. Took me two months to write it, lol.

Yeah, I heard about that Munsters remake & it just makes me shudder.

I dunno... I still pop in on a fairly regular basis... but I think as time passes, we just get different interests. These days, in my online time I'm mainly chatting about Fringe over on the IMDB boards.

Also, I recently bought a multi-track recorder & have been trying to get used to playin' cleanly enough to record some of the songs I've written on guitar... with the eye toward doing some decent music editing.  To that end, I also spend some time fooling around iwth 'vst' instruments like digital organs, etc...  got a sample-based virtual mellotron, with the hope of making some retro sounds!

But I digress....

Freakylinks will always have a place in my heart; the discussion boards at Freakylinks.com were the first real 'online community' I ever joined. I'll always think of myself as a 'freaker'.  ... but It's hard to continue discussion, hard to keep the excitement about a show that was canceled a decade ago.  Cry

Who knows.. maybe we can start a weekly 'viewing party' online, where we all watch the same ep at the same time, and either chat live while it's on, or else meet up here & chat about the ep... Huh?

I dunno... I'm sorry, if it does seem to be coming to an end...

Who says it has to come to an end, SpaceMonkey?  Embarrassed  It's true what you said that it's hard to keep up excitement re: a decade old show, and that people's interests change. But still, I feel this board's just as relevant NOW as it was back when it started.

I still love Freakylinks and I'm proud to be a 'freaker'. What's more, I really enjoy communicating with you guys and I consider you all my special online friends. Things may get dormant from time to time, but we shouldn't let that discourage us from trying to keep the freakiness alive. I DO like your idea SpaceMonkey: let's all watch episodes together and live chat about it. But I don't have access to episodes OR TiVo... Sad

I hide in the shadows and scramble out just in time to snag me some table scraps before disappearing back into the wall.

It has been a while since Ive treated myself to some freakylinks, though...

I just thought of something. Idk may be someone else has already tried this... but what if we started a "WHAT IF" thread, exploring and discussing "the little things" that piqued our curiosity in the series? Subjects could be anything from Derek's car to any kind of conecpt you would have like to have seen explored in the series. Am I making any sense?  Huh

I agree completely, Garnet. It may fall dead around here for a time but I always come back to comment and contribute when I can. I think as long as each of us active "freakers" do that then there's no reason things can't go on.
