Here We Go!

Anyone else watching Death Valley on MTV? Maybe it's the lack of anything else on but I'm really digging this show! It's sort of like COPS meets RENO 911 (a show I could never get into) but with werewolves, vampires, and zombies!

Here's a link to MTV's site: http://www.mtv.com/shows/death_valley/series.jhtml

The series is based on a concept by Spider One, Rob Zombie's brother and lead singer of Powerman 5000. The band that almost did the title song for FreakyLinks. (Whew, see I worked a FreakyLinks connection in there by the hardest.Cool )

Check it out if you haven't, the monster make-up is some of the best on TV now outside of The Walking Dead. (Yeah, The Walking Dead, a show I'm tolerating for the zombies at best. Roll Eyes )

Loving Death Valley's werewolves!

Yeah I have watched a few eps of this show. It is like a comedy (bad acting included) of cops against vampires and the like.

Yep, the characters can be really boneheaded or outright stupid but the action is usually pretty good and the zombie and werewolf make-up is REALLY good. The subplot with the vampires, who apparently can control zombies, is getting interesting. The bombs-inside-zombies terrorist thing is pretty inspired. You have to wade through a lot of stupid to get at things though. Still, the characters have grown on me (like mold) and I'm intrigued where things are going. MTV has been jumping it around on it's schedule and rerun it less and less which makes me wonder about a second season.

If nothing else, their opening song, "They're Coming For Us" by The Measels struck me right. Smiley

Well, the season finale of Death Valley left us with more questions than answers. I sure hope there is another season, but really wonder if it'll happen because of the show's steadily dropping ratings. It's really on the wrong network in some ways. I mean, I don't actually think of good programming and MTV in the same thought. A Halloween marathon of the program wouldn't have been out of place but there was a Teen Wolf marathon instead. Yeah, that is more of what I expect out of MTV. Here's to the series making it to DVD. If only FreakyLinks could manage the same.  Roll Eyes

Good news for me and any other fans of Death Valley. The first season actually is coming to DVD, but with a small catch. The catch is that it'll be sold only by Amazon and it'll be a manufacture on demand title. Read all about it here if you're interested:

With the fate of season 2 not looking too good, this is, at least, a ray of sunshine.

I also got to thinking how this "manufacture on demand" process sees like the logical way to release FreakyLinks on DVD. Wait a minute--- logic? Oh, that's right, logic would have had this series in our hands years ago. Sorry, I was being too practical there.  Roll Eyes Grin
