Smiley Hi guys... sorry for the lack of activity (on my part) here, but I've been bogged down with work. I will be starting my 3rd and final gemology class soon. But before I start, I decided to catch up on a hobby I haven't enjoyed for a while due to time & money: renting videogames!!! Cheesy  Yes sir... the past couple days I have engrossed myself in the world of: Dead Space, Bayonetta, AND I also managed to snag a cheap copy of BioShock 2 ---Awesome...!

But Anyway -sorry for getting off topic that's what I've been up to...

Now FreakyLinks -wise, I'm kind of blue to see that Chiller did not air FreakyLinks as much this month, as they had in previous months Embarrassed  and I checked Chiller's tv schedule, and I saw the show listed for only 1 day next month.  Geeze, I hope they're not thinking of putting this show back on the shelf...  But, that's all I got for now.... Catch you guys later, hopefully with a more Freaky-Related topic   Wink

Nice choice on the vid games. Don't worry about becoming scarce... we all do it from time to time, and then you'll see the random resurgence among us. As for Chiller, yes it's sad to see FreakyLinks getting less and less airtime. We've noticed this last year as well. They dwindle it a bit. They used to overplay (yes, it is possible to overplay FreakyLinks) it, and then it wasn't on Chiller for near dear a half a year. But then it came back on to steal the attention of the new blue Freakers out there (yourself strongly included). So don't worry FreakyLinks isn't likely to be going anywhere... and if it does, maybe we'll all get back on the "DVD" horse and try to get this thing out there.

Undecided sheesh... if they had to pick a show to put back on the shelf, why couldn't it be: Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction ?    That show makes me want to catch some zzzzz's

I'm trying out Alien VS. Predator  Tongue ech! It's okay... I wouldn't spend $30 to $60 bucks for it, but at least you get to play as the ALIEN and the Predator.

I'll be perfectly honest with you guys... I've never liked the Predator! I always thought he was nothing but a great big cheat! Hunting and killing humans with fancy gadgets and cloaking devices...  Roll Eyes "Oh wow, so amazing..." But anyway, it's not a bad game... it's playable  Smiley

It's just supposed to be a comparison to us hunting animals with camo gear, tree stands, bait and calls, and fancy rifles and such.  If it were even, bear hunters would go hunting with nothing but their bare hands.

...totally resisted a bad pun there.

LoL I tried playing one of those Big Game Hunter games for the PS2, and I was a little disappointed  Undecided

I didn't like the fact that you had to get a license before you started hunting animals... That's STUPID!!! A person can do all that stuff in REAL LIFE! I play games to be entertained... nonsense! :-) lol

You want to hunt? Red Dead Redemption is the game for you. That's been my time sponge this summer. Words fail me at what a FANTASTIC story and game that was. It was a privilege to live that game/movie.

PS3. There are times I wish I had a 360 as well. The new "sexy" model is tempting. It's stuff like the first Call of Juarez, Left 4 Dead, Dead Rising, and Alan Wake that tempt me.

Presently I'm catching up on my Silent Hills with Homecoming. Silent Hill Shattered Memories was fun in a one off kind of way but I wouldn't want to see the franchise go in that direction.

@ Shadow: Red Dead Redemption is the most AWESOME GAME EVER!!!!  Cheesy I just acquired the knife-throwing ability in Mexico, but I had to put this game on the back burner, so I could hurry up and solve Fall Out 3 before the new one comes out.

As for the Silent Hill franchise, I'm really disappointed with the direction it's gone. Granted I haven't played Shattered Memories yet, but I've heard a lot of bad things about it from some other die-hard fans. Until I get a chance to play this game, Silent Hill: ORIGINS will stand as the last best game for this series, in my opinion. I found Homecoming both frustrating, and incredibly depressing (and that's saying ALOT, considering the nature of this series). But I loved the graphics, and of course, I was happy to see my boy: Pyramid Head Grin

Well, Garnet, I finished Silent Hill Homecoming a few days back and I've got to agree, it is disappointing. Too much trying to tie-in with the movie, too many random "normal" people, not enough town of Silent Hill proper.

The story did zig and zag on me a little, which was a good thing. First I thought the father was a bastard, then I thought I was wrong, then nope, he was a bastard. There were sub-stories and moments that I'd have liked to have seen expanded on, such as the notes about the cheating wife in the hotel and the fantastic woman behind the jagged broken door there. The unseen person behind the door had shades of Born From a Wish sub-game, my absolute favorite tragic Silent Hill story.

There's also this migration away from the "rules" of how Silent Hill works. Now it was great to see Pyramid Head again but Silent Hill is each main character's personal hell. That's why games 1-4 and Origins had no real repeat monsters. Even the nurses varied. The problem is they made too iconic of a character with him. Even "The Butcher" in Origins was merely a knock off or early version. Sadly, I didn't feel anywhere near as threated by Pyramid Head in Homecoming as I did in 2. Remember getting trapped in the stairwell with him?

I honestly don't know where to rate Silent Hill Homecoming next to Shattered Memories. Both are---- disappointing. If neither had that same great Silent Hill music and soundtrack, one of the saving graces for the movie, I really don't know if I'd have gotten the entertainment I did out of them. I honestly can't say how I feel either about them compared to similar type games like Clock Tower 3, Haunting Ground, Siren, Obscure 1 & 2 and the Fatal Frame trilogy.

I did like the combat system in Homecoming, once I got used to it--- near the end of the game. I liked the way the game played your decisions in Shattered Memories and modified the game to suit those answers. I never really felt the profound sadness of each character's story though like the earlier games.

How is Fallout 3 going with you or have you moved on to another game?

Next up for me is this!!!  I wasn't even aware that it was in the works until I went searching for news of future downloads. The Wild West and Zombies---- I'm there!

@ Shadow: I beat Fall Out 3, but I kind of got bored in the middle of the: Broken Steel download... I just hurried up and beat the main game, so I could play: Fall Out New New Vegas...

My current muse, right now, is: BioShock 2..  I'm at Fountaine Industries, right now, racing madly to rescue poor Eleanor from the clutches of that sick twisted witch: Sophia Lamb! GOD I LOVE THIS GAME! MUSIC AND ALL!!!! I'm trying to hurry up and solve it before NEW VEGAS comes out... But I really do Love this game. I'm DEFINITELY reserving a copy of BioShock: Infinite.

OH! Shadow did you know? Apparantly Konami's making ANOTHER SILENT HILL game?  Undecided   All I can say is: "seriously...?"

They should have quit while they were ahead... Origins was DEFINITELY the last best Silent Hill game. Even though you and I BOTH know Pyramid Head could easily wipe the floor with The Butcher  Wink

Oh and that bath tub ending in Homecoming... I felt so sad and frightened for poor Alex  Cry

Shocked OH...MY...GOD...!!! Sophia Lamb did NOT just do that to her daughter!!!! I was playing BioShock2   last night and I Finally reached Eleanor, my "little sister" only to watch  my nemesis, Sophia, smother her with a pillow!!!  Angry This game is just nuts! I ended up playing until 2a.m. I'm going to pick it up again after mum's done watching the sports highlights. I helped Eleanor build a Big Sister suit and now she and I are going to find a way out of Rapture....

Roll Eyes LOL i'm sorry guys... I know this isn't FreakyLinks related, but I couldn't help myself. I love both videogames and FreakyLinks with a passion. So I thank you all for humoring me in this thread. You guys are wonderful  Wink   Kiss
