Roll Eyes Okay guys, I know this isn't really FreakyLinks related, so I do apologize if this topic wastes anybody's time. It's just that I wanted to share my good news with you all:

I passed my Diamond Essentials final exam...!!!  Grin  WOOOO--HOOOOO!!!

Smiley -aHEM-  Well...Thank you for letting me get that out of my system. It's been a long three months of hard work, sacrifice, and battling -attention defecit-....I have one more course to take (Jewelry Essentials).

Once I pass that class, I'll have a full Jewelry Professional's diploma!

Thank you Mondo, I'm really excited. Hopefully, I can get a job at a jewelry store, make more money, and continue my gemology education so I can become an appraiser Smiley

Hopefully it'll all work out.

Good going, Garnet! Your choice of name has become clear now. Smiley

Two good books on the subject of gemstones are:

Gems and Jewelry by Joel Arem

and

Colored Gemstones by Antoinette Matlins

Congrats!

Shocked Oooooooo   Smiley Thanks for the tip, Shadow! I'll have to snag a copy of each.

Gem school - wise, I'm taking an online course, through GIA (Gemological Institute of America).

So far, I passed my course in: Colored Stones, and now Diamonds which was incredibly tough... My last class will be: Jewelry Essentials, and once I pass that, I'll be an accredited Jewelry professional Smiley

I can still continue my education Online, but I eventually want to head out to California to do my lab work there. GIA has some very nice branch campuses there
