I wonder - I don't have Chiller, so I dont know if its a normal thing to run these mini-marathons, but do you figure its simply due to lack of new content, or do you think its due to popularity?

I honestly hate the practice of the mini-marathon that SyFy and it's sister channel Chiller seem to be so in love with. I'd much rather have the program air one episode a day all week instead of marathons each day of different programs. It's an overdose--- programming for recorders.

do you figure its simply due to lack of new content, or do you think its due to popularity?

I'll go out on a limb here and say that it's actually popular. Chiller first started airing FreakyLinks in March of '08 along with a similar program with an equally short run called The Others. Both programs seemed to reach the end of their deals in January '09. It's FreakyLinks that returned after a long absence and The Others hasn't been seen again.

I'd love to see the ratings numbers that FreakyLinks got on it's original one episode a week run on Chiller as well as the numbers for these random marathons.

The one thing that really pisses me off with the current showings on Chiller since it's '09 return is how at first they monkeyed with where the commercial breaks were and they also were and still are trimming bits and pieces off the episodes. Just today they faded to commercial early when Chapin is on the roof of the car after wrecking it in Live Fast, Die Young. I'd also almost swear that they've sped the soundtrack up slightly. Do we really need 2 more minutes of commercials each hour?

On the other hand I have to praise Chiller to the sky for at least continuing to bring the american public FreakyLinks. They've aired it and shown it more love than FOX ever did. For that I am grateful.

Today my dad and I watched the mini-marathon. He had never seen Freakylinks. He really enjoyed it. I told him he could change it after two aired eps but he wanted to watch all of them. It was fun to watch. Another fan in the making!

Looks like they've got this mini-marathon thing down to where you can catch FreakyLinks once every month. Next showing is this Thursday 12/10 starting at 9am.

Another mini-marathon I'm interested in is the long forgotten Nightmare Cafe that they'll be airing on 12/15. The series stars Robert Englund and only lasted 6 episodes. So basically you'll be able to catch the whole series that day. I enjoyed it when I saw it but fully expect it to be horribly dated. We'll see.

Chiller's FreakyLinks monthly mini-marathon (say that 3 times fast) is set for Sunday the 10th this month starting at 9am.

Nice to see that they value the show enough to haul it out monthly. Smiley

I'm so surprised that they're still airing a show from 2001 which only had 13 episodes. Someone at Chiller must be looking out for our little FreakyLinks. Wish I had that channel. I'd love to re-record them all onto new tapes, update the quality a little. It is fun to watch them with old commercials, though.

Hey, who knows? Maybe if enough people become fans of the show, they'll bring it back, even if it is without the original cast (but I have to say, I'd prefer Ethan Embry---brilliant actor, he is.).

Well, I think a true revival is out of the question after all these years, but I see no reason the general theme wouldn't be picked back up.  With the evolving world of online communication via cell phones and such, I could easily see a show (maybe even internet-exclusive show) about people trying to do a paranormal website.  Though we'd probably be seeing them all use the same computers or cell phones for product placement.  Is it me, or are shows today getting really bad about that?
