Freakylinks

Freakylinks television show created by Haxan Films and Gregg Hale

The first television series created by Haxan

FreakyLinks was a television show which combined elements of horror, mystery, and comedy . It aired on the Fox Network from October 2000 until June 2001, for a total run of 13 episodes. In 2008, the series began airing on Universal's horror network Chiller. FreakyLinks centered on Derek Barnes (played by Ethan Embry), a resident of Orlando, Florida who ran a website called "FreakyLinks.com" that sought out the dark and forbidden truths behind paranormal phenomena and urban legends, assisted by his friends. Derek took over investigations after his twin brother, Adam (the proprieter of a more serious paranormal website called "OccultResearch.com"), died under mysterious circumstances; a mysterious stranger by the name of Vince Elsing (Dennis Christopher), who claimed to have been the subject of strange scientific tests that left him with paranormal abilities, occasionally contacted Derek with information about Adam. The show's episodes revolved around Derek and his friends investigating supernatural claims for the website and uncovering clues that reveal the truth of his brother's fate. FreakyLinks (originally titled "Fearsum" until a few months before airing) was developed by Haxan Films partner Gregg Hale and screenwriter David S. Goyer. Haxan followed a similar marketing strategy as Blair Witch and created a website, long before the show was set to air, called "Freakylinks.com" which was cleverly designed to look like an amateurish, home-brew website made by real-life paranormal enthusiasts. And now for your viewing pleasure you can find the original site for Freakylinks here. We hope you enjoy the nostalgia.

BIGFOOT EXISTS!

From Variety... "Haxan Films and Amber Entertainment are looking for Bigfoot,  setting an October start date for lensing "Exists," with "Blair Witch Project" co-director Eduardo Sanchez to helm. "Exists," written by Jamie Nash and Sanchez, follows a group of twentysomethings who take a trip to a cabin deep in the wooded wilderness and are methodically hunted by a Bigfoot-like beast. "The film is the first in a trilogy exploring and reinventing the Bigfoot myth," Sanchez said. "We all remember the terror of watching such classics as 'The Legend of Boggy Creek,' and I look forward to making Bigfoot scary again." Robin Cowie, Gregg Hale and Andy Jenkins of Haxan and Jane Fleming and Mark Ordesky of Amber are producing. Weta Workshop and Spectral Motion are collaborating with the production team on the design and build of the monster, to be portrayed by Brian Steele ("Hellboy," "Predators," the "Underworld" trilogy). The film will be shot outside Austin, Texas, at Spiderwood Studios, and casting will begin in August with a focus on unknown actors. Haxan and Amber are in post on "The Possession," also directed by Sanchez, as the first film in the multipic pact formed by Haxan and Amber last year.  Indie horror sensation "The Blair Witch Project" took in more than $140 million domestically in 1999 thanks to a variety of viral marketing campaigns. The film grossed $250 million worldwide."

We found the HOUSE!!!

So we've been scouring the state looking for a house to set the film in for the last month or so and we finally hit pay dirt in Hagerstown, Maryland. It's a REALLY old house, early 1700's, that is surrounding by tons of land. Perfect setting for Molly's house.
