ALTERED has now been released on Blu-Ray, which opens all sorts of new gates to enjoy the film. Australia's "Digital Retribution" has published a write-up of it, it's that last line we're all about!
"Friends Duke (Brad William Henke), Otis (Mike C. Williams), Cody (Paul McCarthy-Boyington) and Wyatt (Adam Kaufman) are bound together by a long ago alien abduction in which one of their friends died. Now, Duke, Otis and Cody believe they have found the creature responsible, trapping it and bringing it to Wyatt's secluded home in the woods. Now living as a recluse with his partner Hope (Catherine Mangan), Wyatt is reluctant to assist, fearing retribution from the aliens, but his friends have little hesitation in beating and torturing the creature. That is, until the alien gets loose, and this creature is far more cunning than any of its victims expect.
Tense, clever and genuinely scary, Altered is a unheralded gem. Sanchez builds suspense carefully and methodically, with plenty of good jolts and moody visuals. Aiding matters is the excellent alien design, creating a truly vicious, believable monster, a combination of first-rate prosthetics and the eerie physical performance of Misty Rosas inside the alien costume. There's a lot of action in and around forests here, but Sanchez makes the film stand well apart from Blair Witch. Highly recommended."Read all of it here...
Want to give a major shout out to the BTS crew, Matthew Fuller, Jon Anderson, Michael Green and Steven Barnett for bringing us all the BTS magic of the STRAIGHT TO DVD PHENOMENON that is ALTERED: THE MOTION PICTURE. They worked their asses off to produce these and were definitely some of the sweatiest dudes I ever saw on the set. Many thanks to all you boys!
So this is the moment we've all been waiting for, the LAST DAY OF SHOOTING!
Man, I know the release process of ALTERED was a tough one for us, but this video reminds me of how much fun we had shooting that damn movie. Such a great bunch of people that we worked with.
Anyway, to whoever is still here watching these things, thanks for tuning in. We put all our heart and soul into ALTERED and I hope that these videos convey at least a little bit of that. We'll continue to make films in this fashion for as long as they let us.
So, farewell to ALTERED and on to SEVENTH MOON! New updates on that pretty soon.
Word up!
The BEHIND THE SCENES videos for ALTERED are coming to a close this week and I'm beginning to feel a bit emotional over here. It's been a long, winding road bringing these cuties up and to see the last ones leaving home is...just more than I can take, really.
So here Gregg talks a bit about the massive back story for ALTERED and I just sit there and try to stay awake.
The ALTERED BIBLE that Gregg talks about is this encyclopedia of sorts that Jamie Nash wrote with Rob, Gregg and me about the origins of the ALTERED universe. We hired a great Orlando artist named Pat Vogtli to illustrate it and it ended up being a nice piece of work that we were really proud of. The people at ROGUE were even excited about it.
Of course, our plans were to use this material as a foundation for any sequels, which I'm pretty sure is never going to happen, but it's pretty fascinating stuff so you never know if it'll ever pop up somewhere. Maybe I'll just put some stuff up on a site somewhere.
Like right here!
Above is a concept drawing of a thing called a CRUSADER, which is actually a living ship that the aliens use to travel around in. Those little bugs coming in through its butt and coming out of its mouth are versions of the ship that you see at the end of ALTERED, just to give you some scale. The BIBLE is filled with all kinds of cool junk like this. Hopefully we can get it out there someday.
So one more BTS and we're done! Should get it up this Friday.
Peace.

Okay, three more folks, INCLUDING THIS ONE, and then I've cleared off my hard drive of these insane ALTERED BEHIND THE SCENES VIDEOS!
Here is a good one for sure! The on-set wackiness of the making of a motion picture is exemplified here to it's maximum potential in color and moving video! The girls are cute, at least.
Like I said, two more of these to go, and on to bigger and better (and hopefully, theatrically distributed, or at least DVD distributed with some decent marketing behind it) things we go!
And yes, here and now, another video from the award-winning series ALTERED - BEHIND THE SCENES - THE MAKING OF THE FILM, hosted by Leonard Nimoy, presented by KODAK, we bring good things to life.
Man, the Cronin video racked up 199 views! I knew he was a superstar, but I had no idea Cronin-mania had reached such a fever-pitch of intensity!
Check this video out and try to stay awake as Gregg and I try to stay awake and answer questions about the post process of the film. A lot of face touching on this one.
Look, we were tired as shit at this point. I was homesick and Halesick and Hale was Sanchezsick, I'm sure.
Anyway, just a few more of these to power our way through and we'll move on to bigger and better things, I promise.
Some cool developments last week on a script I just finished called SEVENTH MOON that we hope to shoot in China. Hopefully we'll be able to talk about that really soon.
Peace and love.

Lord All Mighty, will these damn ALTERED BTS VIDEOS ever end!
After the great success of our last episode (82 views!), this one is sure to generate some heat...CRONIN-style.
That's right, it's Jam-Lando's own Michael Cronin breaking it down hard-core like with his rhymes and rhythms, bringing all his flavor to the house, keeping it live and keeping it real!
He edited ALTERED.
Cronin's my editing bitch from now on, that's for sure. Cool guy and the best editor I've ever worked with. He's a crazy mo-fo with some mad FINAL CUT PRO skillz!
And that's what it's all about, baby.
