ALTERED BTS VIDEO 6 - Catherine Mangan as Hope

Hope the weekend was good.

It's Monday, so you know what that means! Another BTS video! Number 6!

Here, the lovely and talented Catherine Mangan talks about her character HOPE in the film ALTERED. Catherine was actually from Orlando but we found her in LA.

We literally shot the film across the street from where she went to High School. Ain't that something? Check her out:

BLAIR WITCH co-director’s next film going straight-to-DVD! PART I

That's the headline that came to mind as soon as Gregg Hale told us the news that sunny Orlando day back in March or April of ‘06. I honestly have tried to forget the exact date. Gregg, one of the producers of ALTERED, had gotten the call the night before from executive producer Bob Eick, who had talked to David Linde, out-going head of FOCUS films. Based on the film’s test scores, theatrical was not an option. A DVD release was where they were headed with ALTERED. We were completely deflated, to say the least. We had met in Orlando for a “roll up our sleeves and work this out” kind-of meeting at Rob Cowie’s house, the other producer of the film. Also there were co-producer Mike Monello and associate producer Andy Jenkins. This was supposed to be a motivational two days where we were going to talk about marketing and possibly making some changes to our film, which we knew was in some trouble based on the test screening that had happened a few months before. We were ready to get on it, brother! We had even celebrated the night before when some friends from Orlando came over Rob’s and we drank, smoked and released a bit of the tension that had been building up for many months now, ever since FOCUS execs had screened the film at bit before the holidays in December of ’05, almost exactly a year ago today. ALTERED BTS VIDEO 5 - Spectral Motion, baby!

Thanks again to everyone for checking out the new TRAILER on YOUTUBE. We're working on some really nice numbers over there. And speaking of numbers, well, here's number 5 of the now infamous line of behind-the-scenes videos for the motion picture ALTERED: THE MOTION PICTURE: IN 3-D. I mean, D-V-D. This ones a fun one about the terrific work of effects house SPECTRAL MOTION in the film. You actually get to see the creature in this one! Very nice! Turn away if you're a bit squeamish. He's a real bad-ass! There you go! Tune in next week for more BTS videos and a new series of blogs detailing our painful journey into the realm of STRAIGHT-TO-DVD. ALTERED BTS VIDEO 4 - Paul McCarthy Boyington as Cody

First off, thanks to everyone who watched the TRAILER this week on YOUTUBE. Very nice reaction, for sure. You guys made me the #47 most-watched director of the week!!! It warmed the cockles of my heart, for sure. They've been needing some warming, too, after this year. More on that next week. BTS # 4 - Rock on! Here is a dude that I didn't know before ALTERED but became a pretty close friend during the filming of the movie. He is a gifted actor and was a source of really good energy on the set, even though he had to endure the longest make-up procedure of any of the cast. I remember one day late in the shoot when he came out of make-up after a grueling application time of 8 hours and started dancing on his way in, which looked pretty ridiculous with all the stuff he had all over his body. He just wanted to make everyone laugh. Unbelievable. He had been up since 2 am gluing uncomfortable latex all over his body and here he is strutting his stuff with a smile on his face. At least what you could see of his face. He was a real mess, as you'll see a bit on this clip. Here is the remarkable Paul McCarthy Boyington talking about his character Cody. One more BTS tomorrow. I think it's going to be an enjoyable one. We're going to introduce you to a little bad-ass we like to call the FOKI SCOUT. Don't miss it. -ed

ALTERED BTS VIDEO 3 - Adam Kaufman as Wyatt

Hey,

Hope you had a good weekend.

Yes, another in our fine series of making-of videos. Exciting, isn't it?

Here Adam Kaufman talks about playing Wyatt. You're going to love him when you see the film.

He was as intense an actor as I've ever worked with. There's a scene during the big show-down at the end of the film where I thought he was going to have an aneurysm, I swear to you.

TRAILER 2 will be premiering tomorrow, so watch out for that. It's a real treat.
