Hey guys,
Just to let you know the big day has finally arrived. After much blood, sweat and beers we’re on the verge of launching The Strand (www.strandvenice.com). We’re having the launch party tonight and the pilot webisode goes “live” as of tomorrow (Tuesday, 15th). Hopefully, all will go well. The press response has been fantastic so far and hopefully, the folks that have signed up to date will enjoy this first show enough come back for more as we continue to roll out webisodes.
Unknown to the masses, the download will actually be active later tonight from what the BitPass folks are telling me. So you may even be able to hop on over ahead of the pack to catch the show.
Fingers are crossed. If this works to any modest degree, we could be changing things in a big way. Indie filmmakers with their own means of distribution and direct revenue stream…just imagine.
Take care,
Dan Myrick

Lots of news to report on the ‘Say Yes Quickly’ Front. First, the Palm Springs Film Festival went great. We had tremendous turnout to both screenings and the response from the first audiences to see the film on the big screen was really positive. We got fantastic reviews from both Variety and The Palm Springs Desert Sun. Several cast and crew actually made the trek into the desert and we had a blast celebrating the world premiere of the film. To check out the reviews, please visit www.sayyesquicklymovie.com/press.
Second, we have a screening in LA coming up. SYQ has been selected by American Cinematheque for their Alternative Screen Independent Film Showcase. We’re showing on Thursday, March 10th at 7:30. If you’re in LA, come on out and see the movie; Mellissa, Bob and Gregg will be there for a Q&A after the screening.
Finally, we’re gonna play for the hometown Orlando crowd on April 9 at 9:30 as part of The Florida Film Festival. This should be a fun screening and we’re sure there’ll be a shindig somewhere afterward so make sure you get your tickets early.

Just wanted to make sure everyone knew about this…
Towson University is holding a screening of EROSION on April 15th, 2005 in honor of Neal Fredericks (1995 Alumnus) and to raise more money for Neal’s scholarship fund. The screening will be in a sit-down dinner format, and the cost is $50.
Towson University is in Baltimore, Maryland, and is only 188 miles from New York. This will be a perfect opportunity for those on the East coast to remember Neal through his passion for filmmaking and through his tremendous talent as a cinematographer. Space will be limited, so if you or someone you know is interested in attending the screening, please email me with a name and mailing address where an invitation should be sent to. My email address is peitifeng@yahoo.com. Thanks.

Hey,
People! Gather ‘round! Don’t push, there’s plenty of room for everyone! There we are. Everyone nice and calm.
THE PROBED WEBSITE IS UP!!!
PROBED MOVIE
Designed by our very own web freak-master DAN KARCHER, this thing is short but very, very sweet. At least it’ll give you another taste of what we’ve got up our sleeves. Tool around on it for a while but don’t get carried away. This ain’t like the old BLAIR WITCH site. Not yet…
Just got back from three more days of casting in LA. Went very well. LINDA PHILLIPS-PALO and PAUL PALO, our casting directors, are very cool people and we had a blast eating TRISQUIT crackers and reading some very good actors and actresses. They didn’t have any EASY-CHEESE but next time I promised them I’d bring a can or two to spice things up a bit.
Got some great performances and I found people for two characters so it was a very good trip. I have to wait to announce who we’ve added to the cast but I’m very excited about both of them. They rocked the hell out of their auditions, that’s for sure. It was pretty exciting to see the lines I’ve looked at on paper for so long being performed by great actors.
This is the first film I cast out of LA and there’s a lot of talent out there, man. Some of these people blew my mind how well they prepared. I wish I could’ve cast more of them in this thing.
So hunkering down now and finishing up my storyboards. I have about two weeks to finish them up before I head up to LA and let our DP look them over and finish up on the casting. Then I’m off to Orlando to shoot the storyboards with Gregg. More on that later.
Thanks for reading and I hope you all understand how freaking excited we are to finally be making another movie and sharing it with you. I hope you’re feeling at least a little bit of the energy.
WE’RE MAKING A MOVIE!!!

All right! Haven’t been around for a while but we’ve been busy. Busy I tell you!
I’ve finally got some big news to report. Well, at least big to us. Pretty damn big to me.
We’re making another film! You heard right, we’re making another film! And it’s not a comedy!
We are currently in pre-production on a film called PROBED. Can’t tell you much about the story but you can pretty much figure some stuff out from the title. It’s horror. There’s a monster in it. It’s not going to be shot by the actors.
PROBED!!!
We have the money, we are spending it and we are going full-steam ahead on this sucker! At last!
JEFF JOHNSeN turned me on to the PROBED script more than a year ago and it turned out the writer, JAMIE NASH, lived 40 minutes from me. It was just one of those things. I mean I live in Frederick, Maryland, not exactly the filmmaking capital of the world, and after reading dozens of scripts (Jeff probably read over a hundred at least) from all over the country I end up digging the script of a writer that lives 40 minutes from me. It was a sign, I tell you. A sign.
So Jamie and I started collaborating and after about 8 drafts we’re getting it going on.
I will direct with BLAIR WITCH producers GREGG HALE and ROB COWIE producing. MIKE MONELLO (also of BW fame) will co-produce along with MATT COMPTON (old school friend from back at UCF) and our own JEFF JOHNSeN.
We will be starting principal photography in May at UNIVERSAL STUDIOS in Orlando. We are casting right now and have plenty of other news to report so we’ll try to keep you all in the loop as much as possible.
That’s it for now but we are all damn excited about this one. We’ve been waiting a long time to make another film together and it seems like the stars are all aligning on PROBED. Let’s hope for continued stellar alignment and good things for 2005!
More news soon…
